Morocco's giant-killers eye another big scalp

Morocco don’t do easy exits. The spine that stunned Europe in 2022 is largely intact — Hakimi marauding from right-back, Amrabat breaking everything up, Ayoub El Kaabi scoring for fun — and they finished level on points with Brazil in the group.

The Netherlands have more raw quality top to bottom: Van Dijk marshalling the back, Gakpo and Depay up top, Frenkie de Jong gliding through midfield. The model gives them the edge, and on paper they deserve it.

But this is exactly the sort of opponent Morocco relish — a favourite that likes the ball. If Koeman’s side get sloppy in possession, Monterrey could host another upset.
